Brother Methias 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 Needing a sudden replacement i purchased a medium size tight fitting (as opposed to loose fit) shock doctor 'hockey jock w/ cup'..It cost 39.00 or so, pretty expensive. The cup itself has the more bananna shape which hugs the perineum (taint) a bit more than a standard cup, has a better quality rubber seal, and most importantly ( i guess) has an extra plate of carbon fiber bolted on the front for taking that 100 + mph testical shattering slap shot. The shorts are heavier, fit quite tight, have areas of breathable mesh intermixed with areas of neoprene protection over the hip flexors, i suspect an area frequently left unprotected by some hockey pants. Velcro stocking holders of course, though these have never worked for me..Unfortunately, when put together the cup does not hold in place for me, despite the shorts fitting too tight (and i humbly admit to skinny legs and ass) the top of the cup flops outward in a confidence robbing fashion. However, when inserted into my old medium bike supporter the cup feels perfect. So bottom line seems good quality, but you must try on before you buy unlike i did, and even if it don't fit, you might buy it just for the cup..
echi24 1 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 i have the same shorts. i find they are very comfortable, but the cup seems to lie on top of the region instead of holding the goods inside.
CTHockey 2 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 Out of all the tight fitting shorts ive used over the years the Shock Doctors definitely fit the tightest. At first i thought they were too tight but after a few skates they were perfect. The hardest thing to get use to is the bananna cup, feels like it goes a little too far down and around sometimes. Overall a great short.
Doctor Hook 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2007 I tried a pair of the spandex jock shorts and I also felt like it didn't allow the cup to protect my junk.Itech loose jock shorts are where it's at.
