Code 1 VS Wicked 1

Recommended Posts

I play inline in the western pa college inline hockey league and I am looking into buying some new skates...I am currently wearing Tour Code Reds but I want something a little more high end. The question is do I go with the Wicked 1 or the Code 1? Whats everyone think? Is the weight comparable?

you should go with the one that feels the best on your foot. If you're already in Tour and like them, then those are going to feel familiar. The transition to Mission would be an adjustment since the Hummer has more of a neutral/negative pitch and any Hi-Lo system has more forward pitch. I can't say enough good things about the Wicked line, but if Tour is the way to go, get the Code E-2. It's essentially the same skate as the Code 1 for $100 less and better looking imo. If you get into Wicked 1's or 3's, be prepared for some break-in pain, but once worked in they are great skates that feel like they'll last forever.

If you get a chance, try on the Code 1 (or E-2) as you'll notice a big weight differential with your Reds. They are also stiffer IMO. I'm skating on Code 1s with the older Sprung frame and loving the ride.

I feel I am pretty partial when it comes to skates specifically because now I am skating on the ccm pf10's and love them. I would say stick with Tour if you are used to them. I did try the wicked 1 skates and have skated with other Mission models in the past. Great skate, vanguard set up, high cut boot, great chassis, great bearings, great wheels. Get ready for some pain(serious pain) but it appears that the Wicked 1's will last. My buddy just picked up a pair of the E-2's(lower cut boot) and they are light-when comparing the two I think the weight difference is not that great (slight edge to the E-2's). Micro bearings on both models if you like micro bearings.. good luck.

Code 1= goodness

Wicked 1= pain

Go with thecode ones they are so much more comfortable and lighter then the wicked 1. This is the only inline skate I skate on.

I agree 100% with that one. I my self find mission to narrow on the toes & after skating with them for a few months I found I couldn't put weight on my toes with both walking & skating. I went back to Tours after that.

But from what I understand here in the uk we only get the narrow boot from mission.

I now have a set of last years Beamers with black & red sprungs & the latest Hornet black wheel. They look very cool I should add.
