plastic in OPS's/Vectors

Recommended Posts

i have seen the inside of 3 CCM Vector sticks upon breakage, all right near the top of the blade (fuse point?). all 3 sticks were of a different model vector, but all 3 had some scrunched up plastic either coming off with the blade when the blade broke, or inside the bottom of the shaft. what is the purpose of this plastic?

Thats exactly what it is. I know the CCM, Rbk, and Bauer all use the blatter system when manufactoring sticks. Pretty much a ballon blown up to take the form of the shaft. Easton is one of the only companys that doesnt use this process, which according to my rep makes a more consistant shaft. Whether thats true or not who knows, they all break and they all have a differnt feel. So to say one process is better then the other is beyond me.
