Space in the laces

Take a look at Bonks skates. There is a space in the lacing...I've noticed it on a few players skates lately. Is it something about the design of the skates (maybe for extra forward flex or mobility...) or is it something about the way they lace them?

from what i was told, they go over under at the bottom and under over towards the top so the first part never loosens

I think I've seen Umberger just skip an eyelet over the arch. Its probably to relieve some pressure there.

it looks like the stripes on his MIA's are off center, I don't think ive seen this before.

MIA has released a different glove, the "Inferno" model. I belive those are the ones he's wearing, but could be mistaken.
