Have you baked them or had them sharpened? If not see if you can return them. When I first started I had skates about a size or 2 sizes bigger because I didn't know some brands were smaller then actual shoe size. It was a horrible season. I couldn't skate properly, and thought I was horrible at hockey.

Then I got skates that fit properly ... I was still bad but could at least keep up with people :D

Any skate that has been sharpened/baked or worn outside the store is used. Most if not all retailers will not accept the skates back. You can't sell a used skate for the same price as new.

My guess would be that in Europe where you are you could sell the skate 2nd hand and make a profit (assuming you bought from N.A) and then buy the skate in the right size.
