Difference between CCM Tacks ...

I recently tried on some Tacks at an LHS. The first pair were 692's and the second pair were 892's. Obviously a difference in stiffness/outsole/liner... but I noticed on the tongue of the skate that one said Made in Canada (892) the other said Designed in Canada (692). Other than that the only cosmetic difference was the toe box.

However the two skates also fit very differently in both width and depth. The 692 actually fit like the Reeboks (4K, 5K) which were designed in Canada as well. I was ready to buy the 892's because they fit amazing, but they had T-blades on them. The guy at the store said these were Rep samples. Are only the higher end Tacks made in Canada?
