d-limited question

I just picked up a set of Mission D-Limited skates and noticed a little bit of difference in them from a pair I had some time back. This pair does not have the leather padding on the sides of the skates to protect the boot/sole from floor contact, and they do not have a production pair number stamped on the inside. (IE: 312 of 800) I was wondering if there is something special about this pair I may not be aware of besides the items mentioned above.

where did you pick them up at?...that may solve your problem I know there have been some "test models" or whatever of certain other skates on ebay lately...
