Guy Incognito 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2007 I'm a woodie user and am on a second stick that is splitting on the heel. I'm moving to a flatter lie, but I am wondering at what point the stick loses integrity? I don't want to be playing with a broken stick that may not be "broken," nor do I want to discard the stick too soon. Any insight?
#28 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 If you can easily bend the blade by hand or the blade has a dead feel to it, then it is probably time for a new one.
DamnLocust 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 I'm sure you've seen guys tapping their blade either on the ice or even on the boards/bench. Usually, they're checking the blade to see if it's broken. Lots of times when a blade's done, it'll make a hollow sound or rattle a bit when you tap it.
