Roller to Ice?

Recommended Posts

The best thing i would say is get a skate that fits and feels similar to your roller boot.

I agree, use the same boot, or the closest most similar you can find.

Does the rbk 5k ice skate fit the same as the rbk 5k inline skate?

Is it even safe to mount a ice blade chasis on an inline boot?

I ask this cause the rbk 4k and 5k inlines are the only skates I can wear in my price range due to flat feet. Would love to get back into ice hockey eventually.

Would it be a good idea to use roller boots on ice though? Especially the ones with vents in the toe cap.

You can do it, but you will have wet feet due to the vents. The more important issue would be protection. Inline vs ice pucks.....big weight and hardness difference, and an inline boot would not protect your foot as well as an ice boot from a blocked shot.

The Rbk ice & inline boots fit the same. Just different materials, protection, venting, etc. I go back & forth between the 7K ice boot and 5k roller with no problem at all. Well, except for being spoiled by how much lighter the 7K is :)

I'm simply taking the plunge and having 2 pairs of 7K ice boots. One with the standard Epro holder on it, the other with a new A8 Large Sprung chassis mounted on them.

Hah, I'm actually going to keep using the 5K's for outdoor, but for my roller league I just recently grabbed another pair of 7K ice boots and put Sprungs on them, too B) Black A6 on a size 8 boot.

I'm dyeing the main body of the chassis black and the suspension rockers gray. Should coincide well with the colors of the 7K boot.

Yeah, the all black is great, I'm sure the gray rockers will be killer. Now, if I could just find wheels that I like that weren't orange <_<

MB-816's have worked like a champ for me on my Hum'er chassis....and I'll be transferring the same wheels over to my Sprungs.

I really wanted to be sure of this before I do anything.

I skate in CCM 652 Tacks roller hockey skates with a Sprung chassis and the exact same 652 Tacks ice hockey skate. I took the ice blades off of one pair to mount the Sprungs. I love the setup.....
