help...?

Okay...

So I went to my LHS, and wanted to get my 10000 mg chassis put on my vapor xxx's, so i took both the 10000's and the vapor xxx's into the shop, i get a call about 2 days later, and the guy that is working on my boots said that the MG chassis had broken... apparently the person that did the work on the 10000's had the rivits of the chassis in way to deep so it cracked the eye's that hold the rivits... So basically I do not have a roller boot for this upcoming season, unless i get my old outdoor blades and mount the chassis from that onto the vapor xxx's(i think they were A50's),

I went back to the person I bought the 10000's off of, and he said that he had different chassis put on the 10000's boots and there were holes in 10000 boot, (i knew that before i bought them)... but i expected that the chassis would still be in one piece... So Should i go back to the hockey shop that did the chassis work that put the MG chassis back in? or do i just take the loss and pretend like nothing happened ????

I am not clear on what happened...is your LHS saying the cahssis was cracked prior to you bringing it in or did the crack happen as they were trying to remove the chassis?

Take pictures of the crack and post them....I will give you options once I see the chassis..

I had a simular experience a few years back. I'm not trying to start a war with anyone here but one of the reasons I started mounting my own chassis with T-nuts and bolts was because a shop broke a brand new, never been taken out of the box chassis they were mounting for me. I was lucky because they snapped off part of the rear inside mounting plate and they were able to drill a new hole and mount the chassis anyway but it looked like crap. I eventually took it off and mounted a Red Star E-Frame myself. They didn't even cut me a brake on the mount job and the guy insisted that there had to be a problem with the chassis. All I can say is in the past several months I have mounted several for myself, a couple pair for my sons and close to a dozen pairs for other guys and I have never broken a chassis mounting with T-Nuts and bolts and they all have held up very well. I suppose there may be a chassis every now and then that comes out of the factory with a weak spot or a crack or something but I'm convinced the guy that mounted my chassis didn't really know what he was doing because all of the rivets looked like crap also.

okay well

justin if you could out that would be great!

the thing is these pictures don't do any justice, if you look at the other rivits, you can tell they went really hard on the machine and then just hammered the rivits in there... i want to take a picture of a couple of the rivits that have been removed from the boot, but i can't cause someone threw them away, they were bent probably about a good 1/4 of an inch...

but hope these pictures help

How many of the rivet holes are broken? If it is just one, you can use a couple of copper rivets on that side, and just skip the broken one.

there are 2 broken on each side... and the guy working on the skates didn't even bother taking off the other chassis on the left side, cause he said that he could tell that more of the chassis was going to break...

I don't have any Mag chassis laying around, but I might be able to send some regular chassis to you...Even though you are putting them on a Vapor skate...

I hope your boot breaks down right away though and you buy a Mission skate..Just kidding...let me know...

Justin
