bheidepr 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 Dropped off my skates on Monday at LHS for a sharpening and the place hasnt been opened since....REALLY small shop, owner and 1 PT employee. I dropped off the skates and he asked when I needed them. I said a day or two, which should be nice, because I usually say later the same day. UPS notes on the door, left messages at work and home of owner, emailed him. No word. I am actually worried for him since he is usually very reliable.I have a 3 on 3 tournament on Saturday. I have no backup skates, so it looks like it might be time to buy another pair. What would you do? Do you have a backup set? borrow your buddies? buy a new pair?(Anyone have XXX in size 8.5 in stock near NW Ohio?)
GSHL99 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 Notify the authorities. You can't just take people's property and then drop off the face of the earth without communicating with them. If something has happened then the authorities would also need to be involved.

If something has happened then the authorities would also need to be involved. Then they will help him find out, it'll just take a few months. <_< I have back ups of every thing, for just this type of reason.BTW, it's wrong, but people/shops drop out of sight having possesion of peoples property every day. Your only recourse is to sue. Then you might get something in 6 months to 2 years, if lucky...sad but true. That really sucks. Good luck. Hopefully it's just a false alarm and Friday someone shows up. bheidepr 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2007 Thanks to all for helping!Well.....I emailed a group of guys and someone had his cell phone. So I call him and ask if I can get my skates. He says he is on vacation and his daughter is opening the store for him. So I had the uncomfortable job of informing him it hasnt been open since Tuesday. Long story short: he calls his daighter who meets me at the store to give me my skates. Charged me full price and she locked up and left when we were done.Maybe I should buy my own sharpening machine.....(usually have mine and 2 sons done every other week)

What a little Bi%$* to screw over her dad's shop like that, and charge you full for the privilage. I truly try to support mom and pop shops of all types, but this type of ordeal makes that tough!! Glad you got the skates back!!
