Broken OPS, will it fit tapered or standard blades?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm getting a broken RBK Sickick OPS and wanted to know if it will take standard or tapered blades? How can you tell? I've been confused about this for a while now!

True

If you are talking when the blade broken, you might wanna have tapered one.

on the sickick - i you have to cut the shaft somewhere into that lower RBK logo... it might be too far up to put a tapered blade into it... it starts to square out somewhere in that region... so you would either cut below that.... or if you had to cut somewhere above it so you can put a standard blade in with ease...

there is also the otehr option of cutting off from the bottom until you get to a squared off section, and then you could install a standard blade at the reverse end....

hopefully you'll be lucky and the shaft broke low enough in the white area so that you can install a tapered blade.

there isn't one spot to cut

get a tapered blade and cut lil but lil

if it looks like it should fit but doesn't, then shave the inside with a file

or take it to your lhs, they'll know to do

EDIT: Yayyy post 300

I don't think it has a lower RBK logo, or did you mean the Sickick logo?

from the picture it does look like it is far enough below the sickick logo (just using that as a general reference) that area should be in the ball park to get a tapered blade in.... because when you do get really close to the sickick logo- the tapered section of the shaft on that stick starts to end, and then you might want to flip the stick over, and install a standard hosel blade into the butt end.

good luck!
