Mounting T'Blades

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty good with working on things... and I'm wondering since I ordered 248 T'Blades for my XXXX's, would it be difficult to mount these myself.. or should I take them to BTM? The reason i am asking is due to the fact that I am on the ice 5 times a week atleast, and I would hate to miss an icetime... anyways, any info would be appreciated, thanks...

Unless you have the necessary tools and supplies and the skills to do so, mounting yourself will not be an option.

definately have someone with a rivet press do them for you.

not just mounting but removing the tuuks too. the press will take the rivets out fairly easily without damaging the boot.

geez.... i misread and thought you order 248 replacement t-blades...

get it done on a rivet press. I aint too impressed with my job on self-mount frames.

make sure you get the alignment correct.

I had a pair with t-blades that had both boots mounted with the blades slightly angled out on each.

The "tech" used the old holes on the outside and then angled the holder to fit the back of the skate

that's solid advice for all blade systems (unless there's a big secret out there).

sometimes people can also twist or bow the blade, that's an all around mess.

yeah the last time I had swapped holders it did not turn out that great. The shop guy working on my skates tried to tell me that he would not have to drill new holes when I was changing from a ls2 to t blades on my xxx's, and that made absolutely no sense to me.
