hockeyplayer778 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2007 Hey everyone.I am looking to buy a new stick but I dont want it to break on me within 2-3 months.I have about 170 bucks. I was either considering the SE or the ST. All of my blades have been broken at the heel(maybe should I go with a lower lie?!).
Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted June 6, 2007 Why not go to a tapered shaft combo if it's only blades breaking?
hockeyplayer778 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2007 Thats what I have now and every single blade keeps breaking. Plus to me I think I have a better shot and feel with a 1 piece. I hate spending 50-60 bucks on a new blade every week.
Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted June 6, 2007 Aren't you getting the same life out of OPS at triple the price?I'd suggest grabbing some wood sticks with a lower lie and testing them out at practices or open skates. Try and see if Lie is the problem. Of the two, I'd go with the ST just because it's less of a risk financially.
hockeyplayer778 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2007 Actually I am getting more life in OPS than my Tapered haft/blade combo. I had an SL and tat lasted me a high school season with practices, open skate, and in house league. Then the heel of the blade crapped out on me and it snapped off. The shaft also has a crack from when that happened. It was an Iginla blade and so is the blade in my tapered. Im thinking about going back to a Forsberg blade in the ST. Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted June 6, 2007 The SL is one of the weaker sticks around so durability shouldn't be a huge issue. What blades are you getting such a short span out of?

DamnLocust 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2007 iginla is a 5.5 lie, forsberg is a 5. If the sticks are the same length, and you don't adjust for it, the heel on the iggy will get more wear than the forsberg. you could try taking a little bit off the stick with the iggy curveor you could try a heatley: small mid, 5 lie. hockeyplayer778 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2007 Ok I am ordering a stick today. Which one should I go with? I mean my SL lasted awhile and it was the first model that came out without the CNT in it. So would the SE last me?So the SE or ST?

jro2711 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2007 i have the same exact problem, i think you should get the ST because i broke the se blade in 3 weeks and since then ive consistantly been brakin composite blades. better to play it safe with the st

barrett 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2007 I'd say take the ST for durabillity reasons. But go with whatever you feel more confident with.
