D-MaN88 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2007 He just means to play within your means at 110%. He's trying to tell you that you're trying to hard, let the game come to you and just play with a clear head on your shoulders. All he's saying is go out there and do what YOU can do to the best of your abilities and let the rest of the team do what they can. You can only do so much in your role on the team. Just keep encouraging the other guys and keep playing the solid game you know how to play and can play and you will be a better player. Don't try to take on everyone else's roles on top of your own, worry about your game while trying to help the other guys when needed, don't try and go too above and beyond how you know how to play and what you can do.Hope this helps as I've had this said to me and explained to me plenty of times. I know its hard not to try and do everything out there when you always want to be the best and win. But you have to remember hockey is a team sport and being a part of that team means that you do what you can do and letting the other guys do what they can do to fill the roles of the "team". There is a lot of depending on each other as a team in hockey which is why it makes it so great when you win. Just go out there and play your game and you will be good to go.
