Maltese Goalie Leash?

Just come across this on Ebay...

Anyone ever try it? Is it legal to use? or more of a gimmick thing? I don't see how this can be legal, or actually beneficial. Esp with the hand sliding up and down the shaft (No pun intended) frequently during the course of the game. Seems like a piece of skate lace could do the same, or heck, even a Lanyard.

I'm not sure how this could be legal or very safe for the goalie who is using it. I would say that this is a gimmick for sure would save my $10 and not bother with this one

Well it's not outlawed in any rulebook that I'm aware of.

i would not use one of them just because of some of the people i play against are dirty as anything always try knock my stick out my hands and then kick it away as anoying as this is i dont want to be atached to it as then i'll get yanked out of position. i cant see a big benifit to it tbh

I've used it very successful when teaching young goalies to maintain control of their stick.

I can see where it would help in that respect, but I'd be more afraid of the kids becoming Dependant on it, and Losing the focus of maintaining control of the stick. On the other hand..less focus on stick could mean more focus on the task at hand. Pros and Cons to both fields of thought I suppose.
