Stick Hand Goes Numb (Falls Asleep)

Recommended Posts

I'm somewhat new to the goaltender position but I've noticed something odd happening the last few weeks. During the game, while holding the stick, my stick hand starts to fall asleep. If I tuck my stick under my glove arm for a bit during a break it goes away. Could this be something that my Blocker could be causing, or my strap on my C/A? Or is this something I might need to go see a Chiropractor or Doctor for? I've dislocated that shoulder once kinda bad when I was in H.S. and it's been somewhat bum ever since, but this is something completely new.

Is it your whole arm or just your hand/palm. If its the whole arm then it might be C/A do you have any straps that run tightly on the inside of the arm near your armpit where the axillary artery runs as well as brachial plexus nerves?

It's just my hand. I might try another blocker next week and see how that works, and no, I'm not gripping the stick too hard...it happens mostly when the puck is at the other end of the ice, and I'm just relaxing
