Another skate fit question

Recommended Posts

Sorry, I know, I know. There's nowhere around here to try these on so....

How do the new Mission Fuel skates fit compared to the Pure Fly?

I'm in a 10.5 EE in the Pure Fly.

I went from the Pure Fly to the S500 to the Fuel

Pure Fly is a bit more true to shoe size, in my opinion, than the Fuel. For all skates I have a size 11. The Pure Flys are the most snug, the Fuels are the roomiest. My shoe size is an 10 1/2 E or 11D.

Seeing as you're a 10 1/2 EE you should try them on. In my area they're hard to find but it may be worth it to travel. The 120AG's appear the closest fit to my PureFly's (maybe the experts here can confirm).

Another thing to note: The ankle support broke down on the Fuels very quickly (< 6mos).

Hope this helps.

Interesting. I'm also a 10.5 shoe and could go down about 1/4 size in the EE Pure Fly. The S-500 was a no go for me. Boots were too big in the ankle area.

That's sort of what I have experienced, roomy in the ankle/heel. I have no choice but to skate in the Fuels right now. I tighten them as much as possible and tape the ankles now. That's what I get for buying them online.

I would keep using the pure fly's and swap out the holder for the pitch holder but they give me serious lace bite and a really no good as anything but a backup.

If they're roomy in the ankle then they're not gonna work for me. I got BAD lace bite from the S500 because I had to really crank down on the laces to take up the slop. Never any hint of lace bite in the Pure Fly but they're wearing out & will need replaced soon.

Thanks for the help.
