FX-50 Senior vs. Small

Recommended Posts

Can anyone let me know the dimensions on the Small and Senior sized Itech FX-50 combos? Can't seem to find any info anywhere, including from Itech's customer service line :\ Thanks in advance!

How long it is from top to bottom and side to side. Thanks!

Sorry, this took so long. I've been a bit busy.

So the FX-50 senior cage is 8.5" at the widest point and 7.5" from top to bottom. Also, it is about 6.5" from the hinge (where you attach the cage to helmet) to the chin cup.

As far as I know, the senior FX-50 cage runs a bit small. I'm using it on a medium sized NBH 8500 helmet.

Just curious if the FX-50 is heavier than a standard cage? I notice dudes who rock them seem to have the cage sagging and pulling the helmet down more than regular helmets with cages.

Yes, the FX-50 is definitely heavier than a standard cage. But I think that's true of any shield/cage combo. The combo will always be heavier than just a plain metal cage.

I have an FX50 on a 4K and it is very heavy. I used to wear my helmet on the loose side (with a visor) and had to tighten it up so it didn't sit on the bridge of my nose. I love it though, the optical clarity of a visor and don't have worry about my teeth getting knocked in. My only complaint (aside from the weight) is that it pinches a bit at the temples (had it on a 652, Vector and a 4K).

I installed a fx-50 on a medium RBK 8k and like mentioned, that sucker is small. I had to pull my helmet down across my eyebrow ridge just to get the chin cup to fit properly. It's also heavy so I would definitely advise against it unless you have a relatively short face.
