kurtandshan 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2008 Hello all,Given the choice (and interest) from the young skater(PeeWee) I need some pro/cons of choosing a limited ice time AAA summer program located 90 miles from us involving limited practice time and 4 tournaments in the midwest area vs some form of summer camp, preferrably week long late in the summer...We've done the AAA already and our skater is doing fine, our goalie had a rough time of it due to limited icetime(practice). I know what you are going to say, (it depends on the player) so I just want some pros and cons of each and thoughts from everyone out there. thanks.

I would rather take the money I spend on camps and pay a private trainer to work with him all summer. A camp will teach you alot of things in a short time, but what happens when you get home and don't have anyone to reinforce the correct training each time. A kid might think they are doing it right but chances are they are not.I would do both the AAA program (nothing like a real game experience) and some type of personal training with a good coach.
