Round-robin formats?

Recommended Posts

- 10 teams

- all teams must all play 4-5 games

- teams begin seeded by regular season record

Anyone with any suggestions on how to run it?

Traditionally, they've just had the teams play a 3-game RR where the top-seeds get to play the lower-seeds. Then based on those outcomes, the #1 plays #2 for first-place, #3 plays #4 for third.

Any other ways?

Two 5 team brackets (1,3,5,7 and 2,4,6,8) or (1,4,5,8 and 2,3,6,7)

4 game round-robin

A1 plays B1 for championship

Can also have A2 play B2, A3 play B3, etc for 5th game

Optimal would be to have up to 6 games. Then after round robin A1 plays B2 and B1 plays A2. Winners play championship, losers play for 3rd and 4th.
