Graf Situation/Durability Question

Recommended Posts

Here is my situation:

I ordered a pair of 705's through my LHS mid December and paid up front. Graf said 7-10 days they would arrive. It's now mid January, and low and behold no skates. I know this isn't uncommon, and my LHS is refunding my money. So I went ahead and picked up a pair of 3 skates used, like new Ultra G5s off ebay for 300 clams. They fit great, but I am noticing what people are saying about the holders not sitting perfectly flush, although they are centered correctly. There isn't a huge gap, but this isn't an issue anyways because I am replacing them with T blades I ordered, and if the Graf factory decides not to ship those T blades, I will put LS2 on them.

Here is my question. On the inside of the right boot, where the toe cap meets the leather material, there is an indentation and it is sort of a sloppy seem. I know this probably isn't going to worsen because my last pair of NBH's had the same seem and it was never a big deal. But just to be safe, I do want to fill that in with some sort of adhesive. What do you recommend that will adhere good and stay in there? I can take pictures if necessary, but I am pretty sure everyone knows exactly what I am talking about. Thanks for your replies.

I have non ultra G5. Had them for about year and a half, 2-3 skates a week. They are old perforated steel models that were supposed to fall apart. Had same issues that you may be having. But they are still fine. Just dry them out after each skate.

Also I noticed on the inside of the left boot there is some thread that is out of the holes, its on the leather where the toe cap goes underneath, looks like its where the boot is sewed? into the toe cap, will this cause any issue?

Mods can lock this, I went out and got some gorilla glue and filled in the gap. Also used super glue to glue down the threads that were loose so no more come out of the holes.

LOCK.
