Kerry Goulet 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 Hey everyone,I just wanted to let everyone know that my good buddy Jason and one of his pals have started a new podcast on 29Sports called Beantown Baby - it's a great show, you have got to check it out! If anyone out there wants to podcast on their favorite NHL team or for any sport for that matter - let me know! The same goes for blogging....I'm in Russia right now interviewing Alex Medvedev regarding his proposed new rival NHL league in Russia...I'll be in touch when I return!Gouche#
Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted January 22, 2008 Actually, Kerry, if anyone would like to join us occasionally on our show, we'd be happy to have them. Chadd said he'd join us to talk about hockey. Or if someone is a solid NY Giants fan, it would be great to have their input as we discuss the upcoming Super Bowl. I was hoping maybe mik3 would join us for some baseball discussions. We don't want this to be a razzing session of My Team vs Your Team; rather, we'd like to have opinions from people who know their teams.By the way, for those who are interested, the podcasting is very simple. All we're doing is recording our Skype conversations.
Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted January 23, 2008 We've begun a game on the Beantown, Baby! page, but Gouche's graphic arts guy is too swamped to be able to make the changes for a while, so I'll give the details here.It started with Gouche wanting us to add music to the beginning of the podcast, then my friend Warren saying we should use different songs for each episode, to me asking why not turn it into a game? Gouche said we can give away a month's VIP access on 29Sports to whomever gets the artist and song title correct for each podcast. And we can give away a year's VIP access to whomever gets the Inaugural Episode correct, since I wasn't thinking of the game when I chose that song, so I'll be shocked if anyone gets it!Just post your answers here for the interim, and I'll let you know if you're correct, then contact Gouche to set you up with the extended access on the site. I'll give you a couple of hints. Some of the songs are very easy. Some songs I chose because I was able to awkwardly connect them as being thematic to the topic. As for the Inaugural Episode, there are clues here on MSH.Inaugural Episode - AFC Div Playoffs Game 1 Preview:AFC Div Playoffs Game 2 Preview: Thin Lizzy - The Boys Are Back In Town (Winner is trevor13478, NH)NFC Div Playoffs Game 1 Preview:NFC Div Playoffs Game 2 Preview:AFC Div Playoffs Game 1 Recap: The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (Winner is J. Casasanta, Auburn, MA)AFC Div Playoffs Game 2 Recap:NFC Div Playoffs Game 1 Recap:NFC Div Playoffs Game 2 Recap:BCS or a Playoffs?:C's Resurgence:Is Jim Rice A Hall of Famer?:AFC Championship Preview:NFC Championship Preview: Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb (Winner is trevor13478, NH)Johan Santana Trade:Super Bowl Preview:Beantown, Baby! Outro (same on each podcast):(Some of these titles aren't correct currently, but they're supposed to be changed today.)

Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted February 2, 2008 Mr. Joe Casasanta, come on down! You're the first winner of Beantown, Baby!'s "Name That Song!" I'll tell Kerry he'll need to give more than one month's access for the first winner. You're a real man of the proletariat, knowing your Raconteurs' Steady As She Goes. We'll just have to save that Beethoven crap for the true musical savants....By the way, that's not us shouting over each other. That's me letting Warren think he knows what he's talking about. You should join us when we discuss the B's. We can talk about your efforts in helping a zpecific player break the fastest shot record. Of course, it could end up that we're just shouting over you..... :D Johan Santana Trade -Super Bowl Preview -
