Mission the size question

Recommended Posts

I recently got new S500s because I was in desperate need of new skates and wanted to take advantage of the stick promotion. (I hope it comes soon.)

Anyway, I got a size 11.5. I had Pure Flies in 11. Now I have old Mission Proto Vsi roller hockey skates (I think.) they're size 10 and I can just barely squeeze my foot into them to play. Hence I need a new pair. I was thinking the 2003 D3 model on closeout at hockey giant. The price is right, for sure.

Now, the question is, since they only come in whole sizes; do I need an 11 or a 12?

Thanks guys.

I like my skates snug, not touching my toes, almost but not quite. I am pretty sure I am going to go for the 11.

3 guys on my team got the 2003 D2 's and one pair has fallen apart within 6 months. The sole has completely detached from the boot and has had to be rivetted back together in several spots so that it can still be used.

You might want to look at a different skate....

I have had a number of different mission skates (d-limited's the newest) and have had absolutely no problems with them. I have heard just a few who had problems, but there's a thread here where Justin from Mission has helped them get things straight.

Size wise, I'd say go with what's closest to your shoe size. I personally like a little toe room, so went a half size up...the narrowness of the skate was more of an issue than te length. Baking took care of that however.

I have D-Limiteds and they awesome. They are a completely different skate to the 2003 D series. I have looked at some of the D1's thru D3's from 2003 and they seem really crappy and very cheaply made in comparison to the D-Limiteds.

I've seen the problems with the boot detatching, but I know that will never be a problem for me. I just don't play enough roller to justify that kind of beating on my skates. Ice takes up all my time anyway. But also I'm a size 12 in Vans shoes, so I really don't know to get 11 or 12 skate.
