Help me choose my size in RBK 9Ks

Recommended Posts

So after playing with my One90s for a while and never really feeling comfortable on them, I've decided to buy a pair of 9Ks online since they're being closed out. I was hoping a few people that have these, or have experience fitting them wouldn't mind looking at a tracing of my foot I've included and give me their best estimate on the proper size for me in 9Ks. The One90s were a 9.0D, and were maybe a tiny bit too long, but I think an 8.5 was too short. In addition, the width was just adequate or possibly a bit tight, and the 8.5 with respect to width was definitely too small. Thank you for your input.

*EDIT* The original tracing (that GrafPro commented on) was done BAREFOOT. I realize now that I probably should have done it with a pair of socks on. I've posted a new tracing taken with a pair of socks on, and the measurements have been updated. Thanks again. *EDIT*

I would say 8.5 D in the 9K. If it is a bit narrow, Just get it pressed out a bit. Your skate shop should have a boot punch/ball press.

So you guys both think 8.5Ds? Do the 9Ks fit closer to 2 sizes smaller then shoe size then? I really had thought I would likely be a 9.0. Any more opinions on this?

I had a 10.5D One90 and was a 10D in the 9K. The 9K has a better fitting heel and gets wider in the forefoot. They fit most humans well.

I'm definitely glad I posted this topic. I figured I'd be in a 9.0, and yet it seems I'm being told the right size will either be 8.5 or 8.0. Anyone else with an opinion, please share it. Thanks!

the one 90 fit ok in a 9ee and the rbk for a similar fit a 8.5d was needed, neither skate fit me personally well enough to purchase

A 9ee in a one90 and a 8.5d fit in a rbk but not well enought to buy the skate

Sorry, but I don't exactly what you mean by this. Can you explain a little further?

Not to jack his thread, but coming from 10.0's, I'm looking for something with a deeper boot, as well a wider heel, and slightly wider forefoot. Do the 9k's fit the bill for me?

I would say you have the width covered - they aren't the deepest fitting boot in the world, though.

My 7k Pumps are 2 sizes down from my shoe size.

so what happens when he buys 8.5 and realizes he shoulda got 9.0 or even 8.0.? or even another brand? since mshander is obviously buying online, getting someone to say yep, your a size 8.5 f'sure! how? in length / width / depth / all three / only two... which ones?? i couldn't tell by the tracing.

solution: goto LHS, get fitted, buy there. solved.

I typically wear a 8.5 or 9 shoe size.. and I had bought 7E 9Ks, length was ok, width was a bit snug, and it was definetly not deep enough.. for the record, I wear 7.5EE vapor XXV and they fit fine..

As a student carrying a debt load that could buy a decent home, I accept that I may end up having to sell and purchase different skates if the sizing is not bang on. I'm willing to live with that inconvenience if it means spending $300 on skates instead of $650-700. I do my best to give business to my LHS, but I don't feel that I owe them this. However, I'm not willing to go and use them for their stock to get the right size.

The trace was done sitting in a chair, knee bent slighly forward of 90 degrees.
