if I cant get my 625's stretched to fit Im gonna buy another set of graphs. my current ones are the 625's size 9R. I just went in today and tryed pretty much all the graf models on, its really hard for me to decide which one is best for me. like its one thing to walk around in a store...its another to skate (which unfortunately you cant do at a store). heres some pictures of my ugly feet ;)

not 100% sure, but i do know the 709 comes in an a EEE. i think the first step would be see how you feel standing on a good sent of insoles, superfeet, the graf sidas... you feet are extremely wide, but seem to be wider because of how your arches are so low.

When you tried on the Grafs, didn't the store have someone to help you with the fitting?

yea...seemed like I knew more about the grafs then the dude working.

Standing on insoles isn't the way to fit skates. God that is silly. A bare foot on a floor spreads out way more than it would in a skate. A skate is supposed to wrap around a foot so when you push, the skate moves, not your foot spreading out. If I stand bare foot and measure my foot, I would be a Wide. I wear a Narrow 703. You don't have an extremely pronounced heel, so a 705/G5 might be good, but I would have to see your foot in a boot for volume. You need to find a store with some fitting stock so you can see how your foot looks in the boot.

Go back to the store and put on a 705. Lace it up as you kick your heel back into the boot. Lace it up tight, and stand up on it. Then sit down and unlace it all the way (take the laces out and push the tongue out of the way) without moving your foot in the skate. Take a straight edge and lay it across the eyelet stays from your toes all the way up to the top eyelet. Your foot shouldn't be sticking out past that plane. Or too far below it. Tell the kid that is how you measure volume. Also, don't buy a really wide skate just to accomodate your forefoot width. If a wide fits your forefoot but your heel is loose, buy a Reg width and heat fit it, If still too narrow, use a ball press while the boot is hot.

hey, hey...I've got a left foot 8.9375" long, 3" at the forefoot and 2.1875" in the heel and a right foot 8.875" long, 3.125" forefoot, 2.25" heel...what should I wear? And are my 4.5D One90s with grey superfeet pretty well fitted? Oh and my arches are both 0.5" from the floor when I stand if that matters.

Wiseguy. I was just trying to help this guy. Screw you guys if you don't like it. I'll keep this info to myself.

Start your own thread. "Are my One90's right for me?" Be sure to include those measurements, but you might want to include the 5th decimal point to get accurate feedback.

I posted it here to try and get your opinions on Grafs, and my ruler only goes out to the sixteenth, but you know those 32nds will make or break the fit.

You aren't allowed to own Grafs. Sorry. I decided. If you wear 4.5D you are either a girl (In that case if you are over 18 and hot, I'll give you Grafs) or 12 (In that case, you don't pay for your skates, so your parents can buy you One95s) :P

thanks for your input Tyler! to the wise guy posting in this thread, $%^& off

I was funny when I was 12 too. It's all good. I was hoping for 18, female and hot though.

This post made me feel really good about the Grafs I bought a couple weeks ago... They hurt my arches, but that just made it worth it.

Next time, buy Customs and I'll cut the arches out. Ha. Just like Selanne's.

I think I'm getting used to them. I now no longer have to bring my old skates along in case I need to change mid-game. I'm liking the increased stiffness (as my old skates were so broken down that they were Chuck Taylors with blades on them), and despite my instinct, I left the Cobras on them, and am liking them a lot more than expected. Though coming from Custom+, it felt like I was skating in high heels for the first skate or two... In short, I got new skates and had to gush about them somewhere. If MSH isn't the place for that, I don't know what it is.

The way Graf boots are cut (low cut, aggressive boot lean), I find that my shin will break that plane with the top two eyelets, in the different Graf boots I have tried.

njd07, I have had some issues getting fitted for skates and recently went to West Side Skate & Stick in NYC and they did a great job fitting and adjusting my skates. My foot is fairly normal except for a high instep. I have worn Mission & CCM(Vector & Tacks) and never felt quite right. I now have Graf 709's size 10W and they fit like a glove. I didn't think that I needed a wide skate but the fit was perfect. They also adjusted the holder on my left skate to compensate for my left ankle pronating. I skated on them for the first time last night and was thrilled with the result. I needed a little time to adjust to the pitch of the Graf as compared to my CCM Vector's but within a few shifts, they felt great.

Get to a LHS that has someone that can help you. Don't settle for less.
