TEAM CANADA IIHF INLINE TEAM TRY-OUT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hey guys,

Gerry St.Cyr (Head Coach) and myself (Michael Hunt Assistant Coach) are inviting all Canadian Born (hockey players) born 1990 and before to come out to one of our try out camps to play for Team Canada. Team Canada will be competing at the 2008 IIHF World Championships in Slovakia this June.

The dates and locations are as follows

May 9-10, 2008 Oakville Arena – Oakville, Ontario

May 10-11, 2008 St. Adolphe Arena – St. Adolphe, Manitoba

June 6-7, 2008 Langley Sportsplex – Langley, British Columbia

June 7-8, 2008 Millennium Place – Sherwood Park, Alberta

Gerry and myself have had the great fortune to play for Team Canada for many years and now we've been given the opportunity to Coach Team Canada.

We wanted to make sure that everyone understands how we will be picking the team, first, you have to attend a try out camp. If you don't attend a camp you wont be on the team. Also, Everyone who attends the camp will get an honest look from the coaching staff. If you come to camp ready to play and impress the coaching staff you will be playing for Team Canada.

We also want you to know that this team is not pre picked. This is open to all Canadians born 1990 and before. If you believe you have what it takes to make this team and represent Canada in the World Championships then please make sure you register and attend one of the try out camps.

On a personal level, the opportunity to play for your Country doesn't come around very often. For those who have been fortunate to have played for Canada will tell you it was the one of the greatest achievements in their lives. To pull that jersey over your head for the first time with the Canadian Maple Leaf on your chest will change your life forever. We want you to experience this and be apart of Team Canada as we try to bring back the Gold Medal to Canada.

Good luck to you guys this year, just curious... why not have a try out in SoCal, there are a few really good players down there that are Canadian born but can not travel north for the try outs!!!
