Sizing Issues

I am looking for new inline skates as my old ones are crap. They are Bauer 20-50's, size 7. My ice hockey skates are bauer vapor XXXX's, size 8, and fit a bit loose but not way too big. So when i went to try on new inline skates today i asked for a size 7 as well as a size 8 as they didn't have half sizes.(the model is vapor xvr lite)

Tried on the size 8's and there was almost an inch of room between my toes and the end of the boot. So then i tried the size 7's and they were better, close to the sizing of my xxxx's, but they didn't feel right. So then i tried out size 6's and they fit pretty snug my toes were just touching the end of the boot and the ankle was good.

Now the problem is i am not buying my inline skates from the store nore am i buying that model. I want to get the vapor xxr lites off of hockey monkey and i am left puzzled as for what size to get.

Any help would be aprecciated and soon as i want to make my order by the end of the week.

Well if you're not going to buy the model you tried on nor buy from a store, it's really a roll of the dice and hopefully you'll get lucky...

ya there's not much selection where i live and those were the best bauer's i could find, im tempted go go with a 7.5 just because it's right in the middle of the sizes i wear.

You can always get that six and stretch them.

does anyone know if there is actually supposed to be a discrepency in sizes of inline skates vs. ice skates, this is almost 2 sizes in difference from ice to inline

They should be pretty consistent per manufacturer but different models do fit differently. Maybe, in this case, it might be wise to just buy based off the recommended size per the manufacturer and your shoe size...
