First jr.a training camp this weekend

If you're 5'10" 130 then you might want to consider adding some weight to your frame. A strong wind will topple that.

yep, one week, i'm pretty sure it's nearly impossible to add any weight in a week.

but good try.

Camps now consist of Midget aged players anyways. If you make it to the fall camp that's when you should be concerned about your size. Don't worry now, I just went to 2 and there was really no one big that I hadn't seen before. I'm debating going to the GP camp when they have it here in Edmonton, but i'll see.

isnt that one this weekend to?

and where did you play this year?

It was more a point that you should have addressed being feather light long ago. Someone that tall and light is going to get knocked around.

except i was 5 foot 5 and 140, then grew 5 inches and got pneumonia nad lost 10 pounds.

Camp went alright, I had a cold but played thorugh it, it was a little tough adjusting to the level of play and we ended up with 7 forwards so there was a lot of messing with the lines but at the end i definetly i got with it, and i rocked a few kids, the jr.a guys coaching were great with lots of tips and stuff, and i probably scored one of the nicest goals of my life.

Remember these things are mainly cash cows to the Jr. teams. On that note don't sign crap, if they are that interested in you they will bring you back in the fall. Unfortunatly as a 130lb 15 year old u better be damn good, I was 6'3" and 215lb as a 19 year old playing Jr. A, I coached your league and there was not a kid on my team that could out skate me and I have only gotten slower. My advice is go for the skate, keep your head up as there will be some Midget trip guys looking to make a name for themselves by pasting someone.

I would honestly not be too concerned with size especially at this point. And making the AJHL at 16 is not an easy task for anybody regardless of size as there are usually 10> 16 year olds in the league in a good year. Arguably the best player in that league this year was about 5'9. There are some very small players who will be going in the first round of the NHL draft this year too.

Well, you still have time to get in a little aerobics. Run or bike each day except the one before the tryouts start. practice stickhandling and shooting pucks in the garage.

On the ice, just play your own game the best you can. Do not try to change your game--if you are a stay at home player, this is not the time to try to be a scoring whiz! Just play your own game at a slightly higher level.

Keep the intensity up for every shift. Especially at the end of the tryouts, when you are bushed, make it look like you are not tired by skating really hard every shift and outworking everyone.
