pants or girdle

Which are better for mobility and decent protection. Currently use the Easton S9 love em good pants, but whore out fast. Heard girdles have more agility but never used them. Put on my skates before pants and dont want to change. Can you still do that with a girdle? If you have any advice or have used both let me know please.
