tps r4 any good

Do anyone know if the tps response r4 pads are any good? And what pads would you recommend for a starter??

My buddy just picked them up a few weeks ago as HockeyGiant was clearing them out. On par with the lower end pads from each company, not a bad buy for $120. That said, I'm not sure how well these pads will fare if you try to use them for ice every week.

Only things that I would note was the lack of any knee stacks, and I thought only having two straps for the calf wrap was a bit odd. For a lower end pad, they seemed alright for the price. If you have a little more in your budget, you can obviously do a little better in the $400-500 range. But if you're trying out goal for the first time, these might not be a bad pad to try.

Might just be me and my friends, but we each went through a set (or in my case two) of pads before we figured out what we liked.
