Problem with my Tour Cobalt Qs

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a pair of the Cobalt Q skates, and after skating in them for two games, I wanted to switch my wheels up (From the stock durometers to a set up that I like a little better). Well, when I went to take the bolts out the front bolt on one skate and all four on the other will not move. After a few attempts, I have realize that the insides of the bolts have now pretty much become drilled out.

Has anyone had this problem, and if so does anyone know anything I can do about it. I used the wrench that came with the skates, so I would hope that it would be the right size.

Thanks in advance.

The reason this happened is you are using the wrong size L wrench or more likely you are not pushing the L-wrench far enough into the bolt. Before you turn it tap on it with your hand to make sure it is all the way in. On my skates (I have Q’s also) if a bolt becomes stripped which it sounds like you have done I take a slightly larger or same size L-wrench and lightly tap on it with a hammer a couple times and than twist while forcing the L-wrench down into the bolt head. The Bolt should come out then.

Hoffer is right. If the heads are already stripped and you can't get the axles out, you can send the skates to us and we will drill them out. If you can get them out, and heads are damaged, send me you address and we will send you some new axles.

Bah...I've had this problem on every pair of Tour skates I've owned. Just push the L-wrench to the bottom of the head and you should be able to turn the screw. It takes a little bit of force to get it all the way in.
