ncbrock 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2008 Ok im wanting to try out for the NC 94 team this year. Ive played travel for about 3 years now and id say im really good for a 94. One of my really good friends that i used to play travel with played for the 95 team last year and he said it was pretty easy to make the team.So im just wandering what they are looking for specificly (sp?) obviously i have to try my hardest. But im not sure if they are looking for people who have good moves and do all that fancy between the legs crap or stuff like that. I dont do that stuff. Im pretty big (tall) not really meaty but intimidating for my age, skate fast and can stickhandle through most people depending on what the situation is. If anyone played coastal cup or 2hot4ice tourneys around the georgia\NC\SC areas i played for a team called the Kodiaks last year and now im playing for the checkers. turc91 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 I'm a Canadian and not to sure what difficultee State teams are , but when it comes to playing just work hard, use your size , and get to the net , I'd say in general coaches would rather have a smart two way hockey players next to a dangler or someone who does stupid moves, I'm also a 14year old and about 6'1, i Play hard nose hockey and been on a top of the line for the past 4 years,While many players try to get to fancy , play your game , hopefully if you work hard you will get noticed
Hoffer 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 How hard is it to make? Depends on the turn out. If a lot of people come it will be harder to make the team and it seems that in the past people that played the year before are sometimes one up for making the team. As for what they are looking for. Fancy moves and crazy dangls are a big plus. Being fast also helps since you tend to do a lot of skating. Be conditioned since the time I tried out we did a lot of skating at the start of the tryout before we really touched the pucks. I would go for it. The year I played I had a ton of fun!
