Graf Skates and installing Lightspeeds

a guy on my team has had 8090s with lightspeeds for 2 months and he had the perf steel at first and snapped both them he got more new steel and today he noticed that one was cracked.

On my skates, I obviously don't have Perf Steel in the Light Speed holder. Although said to be more durable than Perf, and I am sure they are, I was once skating fast, fell and ran feet first into boards and the blade cracked right up the middle. I play the rest of the game with my blades like that and it didn't affect me too much, as to the point where I couldn't skate, you know.
