crazy-luke-finch 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2008 I am considering buying some Mission Lieutenant skates and want to know a few things.what is the fit like compared to ccm skates?do you think they will be too stiff for someone coming from a pair of Vector 4's, will baking help this?Is there a long break in time? Are these skates any good? vitaminZ 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2008 If you ask me, they are crazy stiff and fit my feet perfectlyCant really help you with the fit or break in as I just got them and never used CCMs
missionrh11 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2008 just got mine as well. be careful of the size and read the posts in the thread "fit of mission rt compared to syndicate" my old rtx's were 11.5 but 10.5 fits perfect in the lieutenant. they are very stiff, and are painful out of the box, but baking cures this 100%. i have heard it is not even worth your while to try and break in mission skates these days without baking. definitely bake them! crazy-luke-finch 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2008 well last night i went to my LHS and tried on some assassins and they felt pretty stiff but they were a little small so ive ordered a larger size for next week.does anyone have any feedback on the wheels that are on them?the fit is strange though, i wear a size 9 shoe, tried on a size 9.0EE and will be ordering a size 10.0EE, so thats proven to me that they really do fit everyone differently. thefelixculpa 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2008 Keep in mind that they will feel smaller before you bake them. When I tried my Lieutenants on at my LHS, they felt like they were too small. Once I had them baked my heel was able to sink back further and they actually ended up being too big.
spor 13 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2008 I currently wear RBK 5K's but I'm very tempted to buy the LT's on clearance. I don't really have a place to go and try a pair on, do they fit like RBK's or more like Vapors (which is what I'm trying to go after)?

They feel gorgeous after they have been baked. Cant comment on stiffness (or wheels) as they are my first hockey skate and I wear the Jr version (size 5.5 ftw, got to love having small feet!). I tend to ignore the US shoe size and follow the euro sizing. It tends to be the common denominator amongst my shoe collection.

I used this skates the day I bought them since I had a game that night and I was desperate to replace my oversize Bauer 6000s. They were confortable to skate on and didn't need to break them in. However, I did bake them the next day since it was free. I can't say the same thing about the Lt's or the Boss skates. I tried on both of them and after skating on them for a bit, my ankles were hurting on the side. Not sure if that was the case with everyone that has this skates. Although the Assassins are a good and confortable skate, I use them as my back up skates. I normally do convertions because I like the feel of ice skates compare to roller. On league games, I use my Mission Fuel AGX mounted on Mag. Vanguard frames. Shoe size 8.5-9=Mission skate size 8.5DAs far as the wheels go, I think they're garbage. But thats just my personal opinion from what I experienced my first few game with those wheels. They're just not grippy enough. I was slipping all over the place. I ended up buying some Rink Rats and noticed the difference right away. I know other people at my rink that have the same skates and they say the same thing about the wheels.Hope you like you're new skates-J
