Red Star E-Frame hardware?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

I just got a pair of Red Star E-Frame chassis from a buddy but he lost all the hardware that came with them. I threw them on a pair of old 952 tacks thinking i would just use regular hardware, but the regular hardware that i have doesn't work. is there anywhere i can buy new hardware for these chassis? i've checked google and cant find anything, maybe im searching for the wrong terms?

thanks in advance

I know they are not the same, but I have E Frames and they look similar to the ones for the E Frames.

Best bet would be to ask someone around you who owns Tour Hum'ers to see if your axles match theirs.

Also found these;

Second ones might be more your style, since they say tour, red star, & mission.

Might as well call and ask.

Good Luck.

I have a pair of the Red Star E-Frames as well. I haven't seen any hardware specifically made for the E-Frames but it looks like Tour uses the same hardware on it's Labeda frames. It's a SINGLE axle with a different type of spacer, unlike Mission's two piece axle system with the longer spacer. See links below.

http://www.hockeymonkey.com/labeda-hockey-...spacer-kit.html

http://www.hockeymonkey.com/sonic-hockey-f...ng-spacers.html (you must use this type of spacer. I've tried using the longer type of spacer and they didn't fit)

http://www.inlinewarehouse.com/viewlarge.html?PCODE=TWA45 (Ignore the first 4 axles listed. You will need the axle listed as SINGLE)

http://hockeygiant.com/sncfltspc.html (spacers only. might want to grab and extra set if you swap out your wheels often)

http://hockeygiant.com/kzkchaskit.html (it looks likes Kuzak frames use the same hardware system as well)

Most of this online stores are located in Southern CA. I buy mostly from IW and Hockeymonkey. Hockeyworld.com might have them too. Hope this helps.

Good luck

I haven't been able to skate much on my E-Frames. They're are mounted on a pair of Bauer Supreme 5000 skates that don't fit me well. Those Supreme were my favorite from back in the day and that's why I mounted them to the RedStar's. But now I have to find another Ice skate boots to match this frames with. I'm thinking about the Easton Synergy 1300/1500 or the new Easton Synergy SE16s. Although I haven't skated much on the E-Frames, I also have another pair of skates that I used for two season, the Supreme 6000 mounted on the Tuuk OneUp chassis. Tha OneUp frame is a very similar to the E-frames except the axle system is different. The RedStars were a popular Hi-Lo frame back in the day when they came out. People that I know whot have used this frames said it's a very solid Hi-Lo frame. But most skaters this days are using the Labeda Hummer, the Mission Vanguard or the Sprung chassis. I'm skating on the Mission Vanguard chassis. I have already adapted skating on the higher Hi-lo after skating on the OneUp/E-Frames for two seasons but I would still like to do a set up with thase frames. Hockey world is selling the E-Frames for $50. But they only have size small.

Let me know how you like the E-Frames once you order the axles and the spacers.

I'm still trying to figure out how to post pictures in here otherwise I would post pictures of my two set ups. I'm late to my game tonight. Let me know if you have any other questions regarding the frames

haha cool, its weird that you have both of those frames. so do i. i have the tuuk's mounted on my 7k's and the e frames on my old 952 super tacks. the 7k's feel really good and i mounted them both myself so i think ill be alright with the 952's but i want to get some wheels in there before inline starts to see if i have to make any adjustments.

i was thinking of getting a set of the vanguards but i dont have any boots left to mount them on, and i think ill be fairly happy with my 7ks.

i've never skated on anything other than a hi-lo before, so i dont think ill have a problem. do you think its better to put a 78mm as the back wheel on the tuuk? i have an 80mm on right now, but can easily be changed.

thanks for all your help

No problem. I can talk hockey all day

The 7k's, are those Ice or Roller? You didn't like the Tri-Di chassis or you never had those frames on your skates? When I first did my first custom skate back in 99or 00, I did a Supreme 5000 skate set up with a SureGripH405 frame. They lasted me for about 5 years. Although I should have replaced them sooner. Then everyone was skating on Hi-Lo's(Mission). So when it was time to my next set up, I wanted to stick with Bauer stuff so I decided to try the Supreme 6000's and I ended up buying a NB Vapor Roller hockey skate and took the chassis off and put them on my 6000's. It came with the set up you mentioned above, 78,80,72,72 but I didn't bothered trying out that wheel set up. I didn't care too much about it. I thought if I left the 78 in the back it was going to feel ackward so I changed it and put an 80 wheel so it be a true Hi-Lo. For that reason I can tell you if it's better or not. Just like the Tri-Di wheel set up from the CCM/RBK's, it's got like 3 different wheels sizes. Personally, I rather have all 4 wheels touching the floor. When I went from straight chassis to the OneUp Hi-Lo, it didn't take long before I got used to it. Two seasons later I went to the bigger Hi-Lo(Vanguard Frames) and got used to those pretty fast as well. It doesn't take long for me to adjust. I wouldn't mind trying the Hummer chassis with the all 80's but I think I'm going to stick to the Vanguard's for now. I like experimenting with different ice skate boots. I got the E-Frames and another pair of Mag. Vanguard frames that I want to match up with either an Easton Synergy boot or a NB One75. I'm always looking on ebay for a good deal.

E-frames/mission generators are still my fav frames. I now also skate on vanguard i feel "ok" on them at best. When i first got vanguards I measured the frames with and without wheels vs my E-frames there really isnt much of a difference in length. But the wheel sizes def make a difference.
