1) I just got my tour redline 5000 goalie skates. and when I wore it, are the skates supposed to cover higher than your ankles. because when it did, i could not have much mobility around my ankles and it wobbles on the top though the ankles areas are tight. is it supposed to be like that or im just paranoid im gonna break my ankles

2) how are you supposed to wear these knee protectors lol

1. I'm not quite sure how to answer this, other than yes the tops should sit higher than your ankles. If you need more mobility, you can always skip the top eyelet.

2. They go under your pads. They are worn instead of the thigh guards that are laced into your pads.

u put on the knee pads and then the leg pads. I do not think u have to attach them to the pants.

the skates should fit as high as a player skate which should be somewhere above the bone that sticks out (dont know what that is called. as far as mobility, you probably need to break the skate in more. untill then you can skip the top one or two eyelets

As long as your heel is locked down, and your foot doesn't move within the skate, you should be fine. You should be able to rotate and bend your ankle more than a player skate.

Are you a new goalie?

Goalie skates are shorter and lower than player skates, specially the back part of the boot and are made to allow more mobility around the ankles.

The knee pads are to be worn under your pads. You just strap them around your leg. They will help prevent bruises when going down on your knees or butterfly as they will absorb the choc of the impact with the ice or the knee stacks on your pads which can sometimes be very hard and unforgiving. Most goalies that I know use knee pads with or without thigh guards.
