CCM v10.0 SE skate fit question

Recommended Posts

I currently skate in Vector pro's size 9.5 D. They perform great but are thrashed. The fit is really bulging the laces over the arch area so I am lacing the whole skate very loose below the lace lock and super tight above. I am very interested in a 10.0 Se (price is right) and switching to tuuk holders. I cannot try them on before buying and we have no decent local shop or selection. The nearest major center is an 8 hour drive.

My question(s) are... if my Vector pro 9.5D fits well length wise (just short of brushing toes) how would a size 9.0 E width fit in comparison? Does the width add effective length?

My local shop says width adds length but doesn't sell ccm and they hugely mis-sized me on new bauer One95'a and left me hanging (as they were a special order) pretty inexperienced shop for fitting and no profiling. And it's the only shop in town.

On a ccm e width Is only the forefoot wider? or the heel as well?

How is the width compared to a EE One95? Which I mentioned I just bought don't fit so I'm getting rid of them at a huge loss after six games and terrible skating.

Finally. Does a tuuk holder pitch you back or is it the design of the bauer/nike boot itself? Meaning if I switch the ccm holders to tuuk should I add a 3mm lift or is the ccm boot tuuk combo keep you on the balls of your feet.

Thanks to all you skate guru's for the answers.

If the 9.5D fit you properly and comfortable along the bottom of your foot, then try to stick to that size. However, the 10.0SE isn't any deeper than the Vector Pro, and depth seems to be your issue. If you feel like you can go with a slightly wider skate, then try the Reebok 9k. It's an overall slightly wider fit, and is certainly a deeper boot, but the shape of the boot last is pretty similar to the CCM line.

A CCM E-width is wider overall than itd D-width counterpart, not just the forefoot, at least that's what I found. A EE One95 seems to be more consistently wide throughout the skate, and I've found is wider than the CCM line mostly in the midfoot area.

If you're coming from using the E-Pro holder from CCM, then a Tuuk LS2 will make you feel slightly back on your heels UNLESS you contour the steel on the toe. Having used both very recently in an un-modifed, right-off-the-shelf state, I found that the LS2.1 steel also has a longer turning radius than the E-Pro steel.

If anyone thinks I'm wrong or that there's something I missed, please re-up on my reply!
