Trippingblue 1 Report post Posted March 10, 2009 I'm considering a move to Vegas- Circue du Soleil called me and scheduled an interview for a lighting technician gig on Criss Angel BeLIEve. I don't know if it's a full-time or on-call job just yet but if I get this I'm moving out there. Seeing as there are a few MSH'ers already out there, where's a good place to look for an apartment? Buying a condo or house is out of the picture, at least for the next 4 years or so. I figure roughly the salary is 26/hour, with added high-time bonuses and such so that figures in to the cost of living. I just don't want to live in the really jank parts of town I drive through when I visit friends in Henderson or the suburbs.--nick--
Downz 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2009 I don't know where the junk parts in Henderson are, it's a pretty nice area. There are TONS of apartments, your best bet just get online and look. South is nice, west is nice, north ehhh I would stay away, even east isn't the greatest. Stick to the southwest area and you are golden. Not that I know this for a fact, but I would look more into the Criss Angel gig. I haven't heard 1 good thing about that show yet, and even read in a few articles they could close it down to try and change it up, or even close it down for good. Who knows if that is fact, it's just what I read. Either way, good luck with your move, I love this city been here for 4 years.

I saw the show during previews and it has promise. They just got a big influx of cash to try and shore up the production, so we'll see where that goes. What parts of Vegas are in the SW area? Downz 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2009 I hear you about the show, at least like you said if you get the foot in the door, you could move onto another Cirque show, it's a good first step. I have a bunch of friends that live in apartments on Jones and 215, Rainbow and 215. It's a very nice, new area. Although out here there are a lot of nice, new areas. If you have other questions I'll be glad to answer if I can, good luck in the job hunt.
-venom- 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2009 Don't listen to Downz, he's lying. haha :P I've spent 5 years in the NW part of town, and currently I'm moving to Henderson... the SW part of town and Henderson are both pretty nice places to live. SW is probably where I'd go if I could choose anywhere in town, as it's so new and pretty accessible to anywhere in town. The NW is great for convenience and ease of access to *anything*, but I'm tired of the cross-town hike to get to work. ugh.
