Quick skate fit question

Recommended Posts

Compared to Graf 703's how do NBH XXXX's fit?

I've been having problems with the Graf's. They are too narrow in the heel and I get pain in my ankles and feet. Also, towards the end of a skate my feet are almost completely numb. It looks like i'm looking for a skate with more width in the heel as well as a bit in the forefoot with a tad bit more overall volume. The length seems just a little too short too.

Sounds like you just have the wrong model. What makes me think that you might not have the correct model is the volume. The 703 is made for a skater with a shallow foot. Having not enough volume can restrict blood flow at the top of the foot which can cause numbness. Did you take them back to where you bought them and see what they could do? Width can be adjusted with heat and a punch. The length can be adjusted by heating and stretching, if just a little extra is needed. The pain in the ankles might just require some heat and punching out a bit of a pocket for them. If the volume is a main concern, the only thing to do would be to change models.

Thanks for the feedback. It seems as though its a mix of the three. I just have the opportunity to get a good deal on the XXXX's which is why I'm asking.

I'm saying I'm in need of new skates and would like to know how they fit compared to my current ones. I don't have the chance to try them on in the immediate future and don't want to be kicking myself in the head for making a bad call.

I'll visit an LHS as soon as possible, but would like a nice, comfortable pair of skates before the spring league starts up again.
