Finding a Junior Size Frame problem

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I am currently wearing a JR size skate boot & looking for a frame for it.

Its a size 5 boot. I'm already finished growing, just my feet are small.

I cannot find the correct size frame for it. Specifically, I am looking for the mission vanguard frames that come with the JR size boot. I know there are the mission vanguard frames that come in the small size and it is suppose to fit size 5 boots.

Yes, it fits but the frame is way too big. I have a size small vanguard frame infront of me. The mounting of the frame would put the frame way too forward because that's the only way to actually mount it on the boot (you can't move it any further back because you can't fit the whole frame on properly)

The frames off the mission assassins jr are the perfect size (vanguard 68-68-72-72), but I cannot find any online sites that sell the frame part.

I would get the sprung chassis, but they don't make it for my size.

What should I do? :(

The only option I see is actually buying a jr skate... but I already have a pair of skates I'd like to convert since it fits my feet best.

well I found 3 on ebay, and I've won them all.

I haven't received them yet in the mail though.

I got all of these for dirt cheap:

-Tuuk Shifter III *black*

-Tuuk Shifter III *silver*

-Tuuk Rocker jr medium *aluminum version*

The thing I would really prefer is to use bigger wheels like 76mm at least.

The only chassis that I believe you can use bigger wheels are the Kuzak Pro/Team chassis (all 76's) in the short size.

I've looked at the kuzak chassis in my LHS and the fitment is perfect for a size 5 boot. It won't look funky having too much toe or heel.

If I end up not liking the chassis i've got off ebay, I'll get the kuzak pro for sure.

The suregrip seems very nice, but its pretty expensive.

I think the suregrip is a bit long (9.25"), when I measured the kuzak team chassis (short) it was less then 9.25" which gave it a perfect fit.

When I measured my size 5 boot, the mounting surface is only a few mm more than 9.25".

are the labeda punks are 72-68-76-76? What kind of feeling would that give? Does the 68 even touch the ground?

yep, prior jr hi-lo frames were 68-68-76-76, but there is a bit more space on the first wheel spot since most boots angle up a little at the toes, so the Sensor/Punks frames were introduced to put a bigger wheel there for more grip/speed
