crosskore 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2004 Does it cost anything just to have a doctor x-ray something to take a look at it? My knee is really screwed up and I want to figure out whats wrong with it. I hurt it last winter snowboarding. It hurt for a while, then stopped and now it constantly hurts again. Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted September 12, 2004 if your in canada its free. thanks to health care. I'm not sure, I'm not sure if that falls under it. It may only be for emergency room stuff. I think the X-rays cost a little bit of cash, but it's generally covered under your parents health plan from their work. If it isn't you could goto the ER and I think you can do it there, but I am not posotive.

BobEP 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2004 The MRI for my knee only cost $250. And it was a major injury, so unless you hurt more than one part I don't think it will cost THAT much for one...

crosskore 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2004 I went today, the x-rays were free, I guess because of the free health care. he said it "mite be something wrong with your cartalige, or your ligiments, iam going to send you to a specialist".I waited 2 hours for him to say that....So, if it is cartalige or ligiments, does that mean surgery? or is there other ways around it? ajd91187 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2004 my dad had something similar happen to him playing soccer, he fell and another guy accidentally kicked him in the knee... it wasn't broken but it tore up his cartlage (SP?) and had to get arthroscopic surgery (the one where you stay awake and they put the camera down your leg... ithink thats it...) I am in New York City.... I know that's what my Grandmother had to pay for a head MRI when insurance refused to cover it. Maybe prices differ with region as they do with cosmetic surgery...
