Pro stock pants

Recommended Posts

Can anyone help me with a list between the differences in pro stock pants offerings? Like what's different between the Bauers and the Reeboks and the CCMs, etc.? And like the difference between 501s and 520s. I haven't seen much that really says what the difference really is.

Thanks!

Bauer Pro Pant- Low profile uppers with wide legs. Has nice drop down upper thigh protection. Two belt system, the inside one is not completely covered so it can get a little uncomfortable if overtightened. Nice mobile pant- short break in time. Seem to favor suspenders. Hasn't really changed since the Cooper days. If it aint broke........

CCM/RBK 520: Flared and roomy upper. Snug through the hips and more narrow legs. Absolutely bulletproof hip pads. Very nice tailbone protection. Dual belt system (some varients have a single belt). Stiff out of the box but extremely protective- can be worn well without suspenders. ECHL520 varient has a different liner, sometimes a single belt system. Again, not changed much since the supra days besides a slightly lower cut.

CCM MHP510/MHP1: This can be anything- I've seen these as shells, seen them as a super low profile pant, seen them as pure customs. Seems to be the model number used for custom orders

RBK/Jofa 7000: Euro style pants. Very similar to a Tackla 5000. Hinged thigh pads, slim fit uppers. Single belt system. Medium break in time. No suspenders necessary unless you have a big gut.

Tackla 5000 Pro NHL: The most protective pant out there. Tons of padding, long break in time. Hinged thigh pads, form fit uppers- Euro style fit. Once they are broken in they are a dream to wear. Not so good for guys with belly's.

Easton Pro Pant: Wears like a less bulky CCM 520 with wider legs. Very comfy pant, plenty of protection. Dual belt system.

RBK 9k Pro- Never used them.

Warrior Hustler Pro: Thin padding compared to other pro pants, but doesnt seem to be any less protective. Flared upper with Easton like hip pads. They sit on your hips. More narrow legs, but can be left unzipped for more mobility as there are stretch panels behind the zippers. Very spartan tailbone padding. This is a one piece pant- a little odd for a pro pant.

Does that help?

Yes, that helps and is exactly the sort of info I'm looking for. Thank you.

Do they generally tend to run a little larger than their retail versions? I tried on a pair of Reeboks and they seem bigger than the 7Ks I was used to. I wear a large in the 7Ks (and in Bauers). But in these pro-stocks I tried on, my waist should have been at the high end of the size, but I had to cinch down the belt all the way to keep them up. Is this normal?
