numberthirteen 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2009 Yesterday I was cleaning my skates up (converted NBH Vapor XXIIs) and found a crack running from the inside right of the left boot toecap, to the center of the toecap about 2cm higher. The crack had split about 1mm apart.I can imagine the crack starting off as a hairline fracture and widening. I quickly filled the crack with glue gun glue and taped over the toecap. Are there any ways of preventing the crack from becoming bigger? I'd buy a new pair of skates but a) I have a major European tournament and then the AAU, so I don't wanna be breaking new skates in and B) I was gonna get some real good skates made up when I'm in Philly cos the selection and prices are shit in England. sickwilly 37 Report post Posted June 12, 2009 I had a similar problem and JB weld worked well for me. It's one of those epoxies/bonding compund that you have to mix from two tubes.
