CCM fit changing by year?

Recommended Posts

I currently have RBK 5K pumps in 9D which fit very well (slightly wider foot, but not enough to justify the E width in most lines, and the pump takes care of the fact that it doesnt have enough of a heel lock for me)

The other day I tried on a pair of Vector 6.0s ('07 Model) for a backup set of ice skates. and they fit slightly narrow and had a low volume (the top of my feet hurt badly after lacing) The wideness issue probably would have been taken away with baking, but the volume issue would not. I figured the Vector line just no longer fit me like the Tacks line did growing up.

But after getting on CCM's website, I noticed that their 08 or newer line claims a "new higher volume fit". Just wondering if anybody had any experience with the new lines of CCMs and have noticed a difference between the V4.0, V6.0, V8.0 and the V04, V06, U+, etc. in terms of fit. width and depth of boot...

My LHS is not carrying the newer CCMs at the moment, so trying them on is not an option.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes I noticed the same thing,

The RBK 9 in 10.5D are wider and have more volume than the vector 10 07 model (blue top metal mesh)

I love the fit in the RBK 9

I also have a pair of vector 6 07 model that I use as a coaching, back up pair

They fit so much better than the vector 10 and have a tad more volume that the vector 10, and I baked the10's 3 times.

So I use the RBK 9 for games and use the vector 6 for coaching and sometimes on clinic nights

The vector 6 07 model I think was a great skate made by CCM,

get your vector 6's baked, mine feel great

Unfortunately, I was rocking the Vector6.0s, so the volume still wasnt enough for me. Mostly I was wondering about the newer CCM stuff, the new vector lines or the Vibe and Control (whatever those are. Philbricks seems to be the only ones carrying them) I suppose if its any bit of a volume upgrade, I should be golden.

Thanks for the insight.
