How is the Tackla 951 Advantage compared? Seems like this model is only sold in Canada.

I tried on the 951's when I was shopping and I like the pants. I opted to get the 4400's, which are discontinued. If the 4400's weren't available, i would have bought the 951's Its got good protection in the hip area. It might be a little restrictive in the length of your stride.

I had a pair in bantam, they wernt that bad at all. Considering the price, i think there worth it. There not what you would call tanks but they do provide adequate protection for a decent price and there very mobile.

Check out Philbricks sports. They have the returned NCAA nike pants. They have like 10 or 15 teams to choose from. They are all either large or XL but they are absolutely bulletproof. They are new and never worn. Last time I was in they had them for 99 bucks.
