Sports bars in Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns?

I noticed a couple of people from Australia here and have a quick question. I'm leaving this Friday and arriving in Sydney on Sunday morning local time. The Canucks/Oilers game is at 1pm Sunday (Sydney time) and gf is going shoe shopping for some wedding with her friend. I have a choice of going with or finding something to do on my own (I'd rather drink and watch sports) - think I'll have any luck finding a bar showing the Canucks game?

If not, any recommendations on good sports bars to catch soccer/football (not sure what you call it in AUS) or footie? How about recommendations for sports bars in Brisbane or Cairns that may or may not show NHL hockey?
