Bauer Vapor X:60 possible problem

Recommended Posts

I just got a new pair of the Vapor X:60 LE skates and it seems like the holder on the left skate isn't aligned perfectly straight.

Almost feels like it is angled in a little so my foot kind of feels like it is not straight up and down. Just wanted to see if anyone else had this same issue. Has anyone had any other problems with their new X:60's that I should know about? Tried searching here and didn't see anything posted.

Thanks!

That can be a problem with any pair of any brand of skates, a misalligned holder. If it's that bad take them back to the dealer and get another pair. A misalligned holder is a major flaw in a hockey skate and is considered a defect

Thanks for the reply. I was planning on taking it back, but wasn't sure if this was a problem with the X:60 LE's and I would just look to get the regular X:60's or try some other skates.

I purchased a pair of X60's LE and found that the right skate holder was off quite a bit. So much so that the blade was bending. How could they not notice that during sharpening? Any how, went back tonight to swap them out. They only had 1 pair left in my size in the LE and that pair also had a problem. The holder looked ok but the steel was sitting in the holder at an angle. Is that just a case of remounting the steel? Had them pull out a pair of standard X60's and that pair also had a problem with the steel not sitting correctly in the holder, again angled. In all 3 pairs it was the right skate that had a problem. I'm sure these issues can be repaired but I'm a little concerned to find issues with 3 pair in a row. Any comments or suggestions please let me know. I'm heading back to the LHS on Saturday to meet with the owner.

Can you please post a pic? I don't think the blade can be angled because of the holder, I presume that steel is stronger than plastic, so in that case it could just be the blade flawed

Will do. I'll be going back to the store either today or tomorrow.

I also brought my pair back today and the only other LE in my size had the same problem with the left holder and blade.

I went to another store and got a pair that were ok and didn't have the problem.
