NuggyBuggy 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2009 Gearing up to build a rink at my cottage. I've done very small ones in my backyard using 2x10s and aliner, but I'm hoping to go bigger. Since it's at my cottage and we're only there every weekend *at best*, I don't want to spend a lot of time building. I want to relax as much as possible.I saw the NiceRink products, exchanged a few emails with their President (super nice guy), and like the way the product looks. For less than $400 I can get a kit to build a 20x40 rink, which seems fair considering the likely price of a liner that size, the price of 2x10s, etc (would still need to buy plywood for the boards).I'm debating between buying the basic kit (brackets, liner) and adding my own plywood, or splurging for the full setup including bumper caps, kick guards, and plastic sideboards. It seems like if I bought the full setup I'd likely save a lot of time in setup, but it wouldn't be cheap (up to $2800+ tax for a 28x52 setup; http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Product.aspx?e...amp;lang=en-CA). Of course the kit would be reusable for many years.Has anyone used these products before ? Is it much easier to use the plastic sideboards ?
