Bauer Vapor X60 wood blade P91A

Recommended Posts

I recently bought some Vapor X60 wood blades P91A and when I compared the length to a Vapor XXXX wood blade P91A bought a while back the X60 is shorter in length by 1/4 - 1/3 of an inch. Would anyone know why this is? I would think that the blades coming off the production line would be the same length whether it was an XXXX produced last year or a X60 this year.

The only difference is the sticker adhered to the blade (X60 vs XXXX), this isn't a new product. Wood blades have been around a long time and new products doesn't mean a company invests in new equipment.

Last year I got new One90 blades from Bauer p106 with a torpedo toe. It's a rounded to, but this was waaay more of a taper than I had ever seen.

I called them and they really didn't have an explanation for me other than production changes from model to model.

Apparently it's not.

Even a wood blade can be tweaked. Patterns can be tweaked and are often quite inconsistent in wood blades as they're at least traditionally made by hand rather then a mold.

If they are made by hand then that's understandable; since there is no automation it makes standardization difficult as you mentioned. Thanks.
